What data does Nokka collect
Nokka stores the following data, which you yourself enter in the app:
- Group names (e.g. “Summer 2026”)
- Counter names + emojis (e.g. “Aperol 🍺”)
- Counter entries (timestamp, value, author name)
- Events (name, date, location, notes, optional photo)
- Match predictions (home/away score per event)
- Guest names + optional email (for group members without iCloud)
- Your name + optional avatar (for display in groups)
- Bets (stake, subject, outcome)
Where the data is stored
Exclusively in your personal iCloud account. Nokka uses CloudKit, Apple's own cloud platform. The data:
- Is stored in your Private CloudKit Database (
iCloud.com.lari.nokka) - Is synced between your Apple devices
- Can be shared with other people via CKShare — they then see the shared content in their Shared CloudKit Database
- Is not visible to the app developers
- Is not stored on external servers
If you have iCloud disabled, the data is stored locally on your device only.
Sports data (Cloudflare Worker)
When you use the “Sports” feature, the app loads match schedules via a Cloudflare Worker, which in turn fetches publicly available data from OpenLigaDB or sport.de. During these requests:
- Your IP address is briefly transmitted to Cloudflare (standard web request)
- No personally identifiable data is sent to the sources
- No logs about your requests are kept by us
Location + Weather
The app can (with your consent) use your location to display current weather data. Weather data comes from Open-Meteo. The request transmits the geo coordinate of the location or event — no personally identifiable data.
What is not collected
Nokka does not collect:
- IP addresses (beyond the sports feature)
- Advertising IDs, trackers
- Analytics, crash reports sent to third parties
- Address book, photos (except those you explicitly add to events), microphone
- Apple ID email (CloudKit only transmits an anonymous ID)
There are no third-party SDKs (no Firebase, no Sentry, etc.).
Sign in with Apple
Nokka does not use Sign in with Apple for login. Authentication runs transparently through your iCloud account.
Push notifications
Nokka sends local notifications only (reminders before kickoff, result pushes). There is no push server; all notifications are generated on your device. You can disable them in iOS Settings or in the app.
Your rights
- Delete data: delete a group in the app → all associated data is removed locally and from iCloud
- Delete the app: uninstalling preserves the iCloud data (for other devices). Full removal via Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → iCloud Drive → Manage Apps → Nokka → delete
- Access / data export: since all data lives in your iCloud account, you have full access at any time via iCloud
